The Fisherman's Nightmare

Hi, my name is George Carbone; I am the inventor and designer of the "Ultimate Fishing Bags." I've been fishing fresh and salt water for more than 20 years. After some frustrating fishing trips I decided to address the problems most fisherman have.

After a long winter's hibernation and countless hours of staring at the TV, watching my favorite teams, all I wanted to do is go fishing. As the last piece of ice was melting away, I started thinking about catching some early season Salmon.

Now the search begins, where did I put my tackle box? I remembered it's at my buddies. I'll have to call him to get it. After putting together some lures I had lying around, I reached for my fresh water rod only to find it tangled with my salt-water rod and a fly rod. Once I had untangled the rods I realized that I broke an eye off the fishing rod I was going to use that day. I grabbed the super glue, fix it as quickly as I could and answer the phone to explain to my fishing buddy where I was. Talk about wasted time.

Now I put my fishing rod in the trunk, drive to my buddies to get him and my tackle box only to find he has had one or two "refreshments" while waiting for me. My buddy THROWS his rod in the trunk and we hustle over to our favorite hot spot. I open the trunk and we proceed with our annual fishing rod tug of war to untangle the fishing rods from the trunk. More wasted time.

Well you know how the story goes, that short hike through the woods turns into a nightmare. You stumble on a rock or two, tangle the rods in the bushes, drop your tackle box, and then you finally get there. Once there you find a couple of guys just leaving with a stringer full of fish and a smug comment "You should have been here a couple of hours ago, the fish were everywhere."

Finally the first cast of the season and I get a strike, outstanding I think to myself. The day is not a waste after all and this fish is tough. Just as a smile comes to my face the line breaks. I know it is from a nick in the line, most definitely trunk damage. As I glimpse down at my watch I realize its time for dinner with the in-laws. What a fitting way to end the day. I'm late for dinner so the fishing rod gets thrown in the garage. To forget this experience I decide to skip trout season and wait for the stripers and blues to start running.

Well this time I am going to be prepared. I decide to get everything ready the night before, fishing rod - "check", tackle box - "check", sand spike - "check", cooler - "check", bait - "check". Now I get the radio and chair and after carefully loading my car and traveling to my hot spot I wished I had a second set of hands. After two long trips back and forth from the car to the beach and a successful day of fishing, I dreaded the two trips back to load the car for the trip home. It was experiences like these that gave me the determination to invent the Ultimate Fishing Bags.
